Eight ways to invite good energy into your life

I used to view my spirituality as a quirky secret that I had to hide. Today, with the rise of mainstream yoga, mass meditation, boho fashion and crystal jewelry, I know that spirituality is something beautiful to embrace and practise every day.

Ditch your preconceived notions of getting in touch with your spiritual self and discover how many spiritual boxes you can check without even realising it. Here are a few fabulous ways to harness your own subtle spirituality and invite good energy into your life.

Eight ways to bring good vibes into your life

#1: Use aromatherapy

Any self-respecting person likes to smell good. Scents such as thyme, citrus, rose and lavender smell gorgeous and have holistic benefits that can help heal or lift your spirits. The easiest way to use these scents is in the form of essential oils. Simply apply the oil to your pulse points, to a pre-bedtime bath, or to your pillowcase before you head off to sleep.

#2: Practise yoga

Thanks to the number of open-minded fitness and well-being junkies, yoga has never been more popular or accessible. Gone are the days when older ladies in the office thought you were talking openly about your bedroom antics when you mention the downward-facing dog. Yoga is a superb workout if you want to slim down your ego and tone up your spirituality.

#3: Use crystals

I bet you have at least one crystal in your home. Crystal jewelry and décor are making a major comeback, and they’re a great way to help add spirituality to your home, office or outfit! Crystals are essentially a way to focus your intention. By holding a crystal or placing one on the end of your yoga mat, you can regain your focus, energy and purpose. It’s pretty amazing!

#4: Read mantras

A mantra is a group of words or a thought with spiritual power; be it to inspire, calm, motivate or heal you. Thanks to social media’s motivational Mondays, there’s been a big rise in affirmations and mantras going viral. So let’s be honest – have you liked, commented on, shared or read a mantra online? Thought so. They’re a simple but very powerful way to invite positivity into your routine.

#5: Prioritise self-help

You no longer have to suspiciously stash that self-help book you’re holding behind your jacket when you bump into someone you know. Once considered overly spiritual, self-help is now considered proactive self-care – so stock up that shelf with everything you need to fuel your soul! Self-help and spirituality are part of the same family after all.

#6: Study the stars

Have you ever wished upon a shooting star? Or found yourself in a testy mood once a full moon struck? Astrology is a great way to stay in tune with your spirituality. Checking your horoscope online or in the local paper is a fuss-free way to track a week or month’s soul themes. You’ll be surprised at how accurate it can be!

#7: Explore holistic health

Not a fan of your doctor and his long list of prescriptions? Lucky for you, there are many holistic options you can try to keep your well-being in check. For example: Massage, naturopathy, Reiki, chiropractic and acupuncture. These options present a great opportunity to explore new practices that will speak to your soul.

#8: Believe in the inexplainable!

Do you believe it fate? How about in soul mates? Or angels? These days, none of these things are considered silly. In fact from Generation Y backward there are increasing statistics that we’re getting less religious and more spiritual. All abroad the spirituality train!
