How to remove your spray tan in three easy steps!

20140424-134241.jpg

We all love a fresh spray tan, but dread having to scrub it off when it becomes patchy and tacky. Removing your spray tan can be a tiring, lengthy process, but by following these three quick and easy steps, you’ll be able to get rid of it in no time!

1. Apply baby oil to the areas of your body of which the fake tan has been applied. This can get messy so is best done in the shower. Gently rub the oil into your skin and give it 10-15 minutes to sink into your pores.

2. Run a hot shower. Using exfoliating gloves and a good quality body scrub, scrub your body from top to bottom. Ensure that you rinse off your exfoliating gloves regularly. After you’ve scrubbed your entire body, use a little bit of shower gel on a loofah and give your body one final scrub down.

3. Pat dry your body and apply a hydrating moisturiser to sensitive areas such as the chest and neck.

Chanel Perfection Lumière: A quick review

20140416-103430.jpg

Hi girls!

I thought I’d do a very short and sweet review on this foundation for all the Chanel lovers out there. So, here goes!

Pros:
– Smells fantastic! Almost like a light perfume
– Very smooth consistency
– Blends into the skin easily
– Very radiating
– Gives clear skin a beautiful glow
– Can be set with a loose or pressed powder

Cons:
– Doesn’t give much coverage
– Coverage is too light for problem skin
– Tends to make dry skin look flaky
– Takes a while to dry if not set with a powder
– Touch ups have to be applied regularly to keep it looking fresh

Sunkissed summer skin in seconds!

20140409-110727.jpg

We all dream about having gorgeous, glowing bronzed skin, right? Read on to find out how to achieve a natural-looking tan in seconds using a few of my favourite tanning products – fuss-free!

1. PRE-TAN: THE BODY SHOP STRAWBERRY BODY POLISH
Using a generous amount of this sweet-smelling body scrub with a pair of exfoliating gloves, gently exfoliate your skin under a warm to hot shower. Make sure you scrub and shave in the shower before you start your fake tanning process. Your body should also be free of any roll-ons, perfumes or lotions prior to applying fake tan which is explained in the next step.

2. FAKE TAN: ST TROPEZ SELF TAN DARK BRONZING MOUSSE
I love this product! I’m not a big fan of using self tanning products (I prefer getting my spray tans done by salon professionals), but this product is a winner. St Tropez is well-known for their quality fake tanning range, so although the products are a bit on the pricy side, I decided to give in to the hype and purchased a can of the Self Tan Dark Bronzing Mousse.

I used a pair of surgical gloves and a self tanning mitt (that came with a bottle of Caribbean Tan Tanning Spritzer that I once bought) to apply this the mousse. I’d recommend applying this product in the shower to avoid mess. And, avoiding white bed sheets while you’re fake tanned is probably a good idea too! I apply two layers of the mousse for best results. It gives a great natural-looking golden brown tan. The mousse does appear to have a green-ish tint at first, but not to worry because it fades once applied to the skin.

The tan takes 6-8 hours to develop fully. It’s best to wait a full eight hours before taking a shower in order to get rid of all the excess. Make sure you take quick showers while you’re fake tanned and that you don’t exfoliate. Using soap or shower gel is fine, but scrubbing your body with a loofah or a body brush will remove your tan.

3. POST-TAN MAINTENANCE: CARIBBEAN TAN SHIMMER LOTION
Although just about any good quality body lotion is good enough to do the job, Caribbean Tan Shimmer Lotion is the best product I’ve come across for extending the life of your freshly-applied tan. The product also has a subtle tint and shimmer which I love, which makes it a lovely lotion to wear over a fake tan during the day. I would recommend using this product every 1-2 days to ensure a long-lasting fake tan.

4. TAN ENHANCER: NARS BODY GLOW
If you’re a Sephora addict, you probably would have heard about this product a whole ago. Although it’s pretty pricy (I paid $60 at a Sephora store in New York City), it really is worth the price!

NARS Body Glow comes in a fancy square glass bottle. It’s more of an oil than a lotion, which I love because it really makes your stomach and legs look super toned and tanned! Upon reviewing this product on http://www.makeupalley.com, I learned that not every consumer has been a fan of its smell, but I must say that I quite like it – it reminds me of summer. This product is perfect to use over a fake tan for a day at the beach or a night out.
