All that glitters

All that glitters

So, I got my nails done this morning. The usual french acrylic, of course. I did, however, decide to bling it up a little and have some silver glitter added to each nail. Thoughts?

Murano Bar at 15 on Orange

15 on Orange Hotel is home to Murano Bar, a glorious bar decorated with crystal chandeliers and beautiful backdrops. I only popped in and out quickly for a glass of wine, but I’m looking forward to trying some of their signature cocktails over the weekend! So, watch this space.

Red velvet cupcakes and European-style iced coffee loving at Manna Epicure

Hands-down my favourite cafe on Kloof Street. Chic, classy and always a vibey atmosphere – Manna Epicure has it all! Serving the city’s best red velvet cake (in my opinion, at least – and I’ve tried many places!) and a variety of coffees and other hot and cold drinks, Manna never disappoints.

The best iced smoothies at Cocoa Oola!

I’ve been searching for the best iced smoothies that Cape Town has to offer for ages now. When I popped in at Cocoa Oola in Kloof Street this week, I was surprised, excited and overjoyed all at the same time – yes, I found the place! This vibrant little hotspot of a coffee shop come cafe offers a variety of simplistic meals as well as the best smoothies I’ve ever tasted. The vanilla chai and cocoa mint crush are absolutely to-die-for! A must-try.

Lunching in the sunshine at Caffe Milano

This hidden little sidewalk cafe situated on the always busy Kloof Street offers a spectacular view of Cape Town from their comfortable little chairs and tables in their outside seating section. The menu isn’t extensive, but it covers the basics. If you’re looking for a peaceful, very relaxing spot to enjoy a Sunday tea or lunch, look no further than here.

Cocktails and champers on rainy evenings at the One & Only Hotel

The One & Only Hotel situated in Cape Town’s beloved V&A Waterfront is undoubtedly my favourite hotel in this buzzing city! Elegant, sophisticated and timeless.

The gorgeous hotel is home to two renowned restaurants – Reuben’s and Nobu – which I’ll review a little later on this month. Then, there’s the bar, of course. Serving only the most delectable cocktails with complimentary olives and other snacks on the side, you know you’re always in for a treat when you pay a visit here.

Seared Sweetshop Daiquiri
Blushing Rose Mojito
Honeyed Foam Mojito

Everything on the menu seems delicious – even the non-alcoholic cocktails! Plus, parking is free, service is great and friendly, and the setting is chic and comfy. What more could you ask for? Whether it be after-work drinks or a catchup session with a friend, this spot is always perfect.
