Lazari coffee shop

Before I headed off to my photo shoot on Saturday, I decided that I was in great need of a little caffeine fix, which brought me to discover Lazari, a cute boutique-style coffee shop situated on Vredehoek Avenue just off Upper Buitenkant Street in Vredehoek. Their iced lattes are amazing – you’re provided with an ice-cream or sugar-free option, which is convenient for those who are health-conscious! The setting is trendy yet simple. A must-visit for all coffee lovers!

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipglass – love at first sight!

During a sneaky late night make-up shop last night, I discovered these deliciously flavoured glosses at my local MAC counter. I didn’t have time to swatch them all due to time constraints, but I did make time to purchase the Bubblegum shade! They all smell heavenly, and appear very sheer and glossy on the lips. Not too pigmented nor too transparent – perfect on its own for a day look, or over a bold lipstick for night. I also purchased Diva, a matte burgundy/deep red lipstick that I’ve had my eye on at the MAC counter for a while now. Although I’m a nude lip jobs of girl, I decided to brave purchasing something different for myself in terms of lipsticks, and I don’t regret it at all! Gorgeous colour and gorgeous finish – not as drying as MAC’s other matte lipsticks either. Both were great buys!

Long lazy lunches and cocktails at Sevruga

Looking for somewhere budget-friendly to please your appetite on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon? Look no further than Sevruga.

Sevruga is located on the water’s edge at the V&A Waterfront, and offers a half price sushi and cocktail special every day until 5pm sharp. Some of my favourite cocktails include the Mojito, Caramello Pear, White Chocolate Martini and the Low Calorie Wild Berry Brumble. Enjoy a sushi lunch complimented by delicious cocktails in a vibey setting – the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, I’d say!

High Tea at the luxurious Table Bay Hotel

If you’re looking to go somewhere elegant for a late afternoon cup of tea accompanied by a slice of decadent red velvet cake or strawberry cheesecake, look no further than the V&A Waterfront’s luxurious Table Bay Hotel.

Boasting the most breathtaking view of Table Mountain, the Table Bay will comfort you in their chic restaurant where an extravagant variety of the finest cakes and tarts are on display. If you’re feeling up to it, also check out The Union Bar just opposite the restaurant for a classic cocktail or two.

Cocktails at The Grand at the end of a long week

So, let’s get started on what I’ve been up to this past weekend – between running around on set doing hair and make-up touchups all weekend long, I managed to fit a cheeky cocktail and fancy dinner in here and there. You know, the usual. I mean, why not take advantage of these gorgeous (and rare!) summery days that Cape Town is treating us to this winter? Anyway, on Friday afternoon I decided to kick my weekend of with a relaxing drink at The Grand.

The Grand is a beach bar come restaurant situated in Granger Bay just behind Green Point stadium. They’re well-known for their irresistible pizzas and seafood dishes as well as their cocktails (their mojitos and pink mojitos are to-die-for!), but more importantly, their exclusive view of Cape Town’s waterfront and harbour.

If you’re looking for somewhere trendy yet peaceful to have a drink after a long week, come here. If it’s a sunny day, that is. The dress code is a bit sophisticated, but semi-casual is fine too – just be prepared to put your feet in the sand!
